The Causes of Panic Attacks
Treat The Causes Of Panic Attacks Before They Destroy You
For those people who are suffering from panic attacks the unknown to them is what the causes of panic attacks are. Of course there may be many answers but among the most often cited, it is the fear of what is not known that ranks very high. Fears are brought about by certain chemical and physiological changes that take place in the body when under stress. Fear stands for “false evidence appearing real”, and when these fears develop they will overwhelm a person to the point of leading to a panic attack.
Psychological And Physical
The recommended way of understanding the causes of panic attacks lies in exploring both physical as well as psychological avenues. After understanding what the causes are it then pays to learn that you must not be overwhelmed by what you have uncovered and furthermore, you need to also not allow the symptoms to overwhelm you either.

The key in dealing with causes of panic attacks lies in the empowering of the self so that you are able to remain strong when dealing with the causes of panic attacks. Phobias and fears of any kind are often cited as causes of panic attacks and these maladies arise on account of having suffered some sort of traumatic event which then leaves an imprint deep in the subconscious memory. These memories, below conscious recognition, arise every now and then and give rise to panic attacks that will occur periodically for the remainder of the sufferers life unless the memory of the event is released.
There are also certain biological causes of panic attacks that are worth understanding. These typically take the form of radical changes that are taking place in the body. For example, a body that is deficient of Vitamin B from eating poor choices of foods can lead to suffering from panic attacks. The same is true when people suffer from post traumatic stress disorders, hyperthyroidism, hypoglycemia, as well as inner ear disturbance. They can can all be causes of panic attacks.
Other causes of panic attacks include the over-consumption of alcohol and the symptoms of withdrawal a person goes through upon discontinuing taking of drugs or certain medications. Another cause of panic attacks is hyperventilation syndrome, due to the disturbance in oxygen levels. Even a major stressful situation, like bereavement, in the family are short-term causes of panic attacks.
Of the many different causes of panic attacks the five main such causes are: improper nutrition, phobias, hereditary causes, certain pharmacological triggers and lack of assertiveness. It must also be pointed out that delaying treatment of the causes of panic attacks can be catastrophic and so, as soon as you notice yourself becoming anxious, even before a panic attack is going to overcome you, it is necessary that you seek professional help to deal with the disorder in the right manner.

Hi,
I absolutely agree. Self control is really the first basic step for treating anxiety.
On the other hand, treating anxiety or panicattacks isn’t always
a simple process. Some people suffer from panic attacks because they had a trauma during
their life (in a lot of cases, during their childhood).
In this case -but not just in this one- it is highly possible that just self control won’t be enough to treat the anxiety.
The lenght of the treating process will depend on the type and the greatness of the suffered trauma.

Hi Alicia and thanks for you comment.
I agree that it can take time to overcome panic attacks if that is the belief system people are operating from. The work of Byron Katie has shown us that by changing ones belief system one can instantly transform the bodies reaction to past trauma. In my work as a hypnotherapist I have witnessed this to be the case. We are what we believe we are to be.

That’s some great advice, It wasn’t until I finally decided to open up and talk to my best friend about my problems that I finally found the solution to my answer. She too had experienced panic attacks for most of her life, and like me never wanted to tell anyone. Surprisingly it wasn’t therapy that she suggested. She helped me realize that in order to successfully cure my panic attacks that I’d have to take action myself.
